Sony corporation's very first product was an utter flop. In late 1940, Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute introduced the electric rice cooker.?
The product was engineered by just interlocking aluminum electrodes in the bottom of a wooden tub. This was an early design of an electric cooker that either undercooked or overcooked rice. This was because of the variation in the rice quality and water used. Ultimately well-cooked rice is not always possible, and the product miserably failed. It was the first failure for Ibuka and his team, who co-founded Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute was later evolved as Sony Corporation.??
Some of the other products that were failed?
The moral of the story is that failure is not the opposite of success; it is a part of every success story like Sony's. Even the admired innovator Google failed in google glass.
