Songs for Aphasia and Alzheimer's Treatment
Music connects us to each other. It bridges generations. It eases communication during stroke recovery - particularly for those with Aphasia. And for those with Alzheimer's disease, it serves as an anchor for past memories. I've used it for years as a strategy with my patients and clients. And their enthusiasm for this activity lights up the room.
So, I've put together a few videos to share with others. You can find more by visiting my YouTube Channel. And I'm adding more all the time, so if you like, feel free to subscribe.
I just created another video for adults with Aphasia or Alzheimer's disease. This one is for those in their 90's, but if you follow the link above, you'll find videos for those in their 80's, 70's and 60's. There's even instructions to insure success in this one! Would love to hear any thoughts from fellow speech therapists, caregivers, psychologists or those with older family members. Feel free to comment below or send me an email at [email protected].
