In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians we read in chapter 11 about Jesus and His twelve disciples having a meal. During the meal Judas Iscariot who betrays Jesus leaves the Lord’s Supper. In the video you can see his shadow as he leaves by the door. The following passage is often used during our Holy Communion service in our Churches to confirm our belief that Jesus lives and will return.
The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread (1 Corinthians 11:23), and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said “This is my body, which is for you, do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24). In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25). For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:26). Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord (1 Corinthians 11:27).
Thought for today: Jesus asks us to join Him for life.
Thought for the future: now is the time to invest in heaven, tomorrow may be too late. Where will you spend your eternity?
