Luke tells us in chapter 22 about the Last Supper, where Jesus has His last meal with His disciples, before He is arrested and crucified on the cross.

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover” (Luke 22:8). When the hour came, Jesus and the Apostles reclined at the table (Luke 22:14). And Jesus said to them “I have eagerly desired to eat the Passover with you before I suffer” (Luke 22:15). “For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God” (Luke 22:16). After taking the cup He gave thanks and said “Take this and divide it among you” (Luke 22:17). “For I tell you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes” (Luke 22:18). And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them saying “This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19). In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you” (Luke 22:20). “But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table” (Luke 22:21).??

?Thought for today: we can’t see God’s hand, but we can trust His heart.
