In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God said “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). God called the light “day” and the darkness He called “night” (Genesis 1:5). God said “Let there be water, and let dry ground appear” and it was so (Genesis 1:9). God called the dry ground “land” and the gathered waters He called “sea” (Genesis 1:10). Then God said “Let the land produce vegetation” and it was so (Genesis 1:11). God said “Let there be lights in the sky and seasons and days and years” (Genesis 1:14). God said “Let the water teem with living creatures, and birds fly above the earth” (Genesis 1:20). God said “let the land produce living creatures according to their kind. And it was so (Genesis 1:24). God said “Let us make man in our image and let them rule over all the earth” (Genesis 1:26). So God created man in His own image, male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27). Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array (Genesis 2:1). On the seventh day God rested from all His work (Genesis 2:2). For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).??
