We read from Paul’s letter in 1 Corinthians chapter 3 that we are God’s fellow workers - one can plant the seed, another can water it, but it is God who will make it grow.
You are still worldly for there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not acting like mere men? (1 Corinthians 3:3). For when one says “I follow Paul” and another “I follow Apollos” are you not mere men? (1 Corinthians 3:4). What is Apollos, and what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe - as the Lord has assigned to each his task (1 Corinthians 3:5). I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow (1 Corinthians 3:6). So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow (1 Corinthians 3:7). The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labour (1 Corinthians 3:8). For we are God’s fellow-workers; you are God’s field, Gods building (1 Corinthians 3:9). By the grace of God I laid a foundation and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds (1 Corinthians 3:10). For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). The day will come to test the quality of each man’s work (1 Corinthians 3:13). If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward (1 Corinthians 3:14).
Thought for today: do not be deceived, there is only one true God.
Thought for the future: there’s only one way to heaven, but that’s all we need. Where will you spend your eternity?
