A prayer of thanksgiving to our heavenly Father for his mercy and grace that He gives to us. And we give thanks to our gracious God for His one and only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and for the death and resurrection of Jesus, so that He can dwell in us, and we can dwell in Him. Enable us by faith to partake in Holy Communion shared by Christians throughout the world with the two items to remind us of what Jesus has done for us. The bread represents the body of Jesus, and the wine represents His blood. We read in Matthew chapter 26 that Jesus said to His disciples while they were having their last meal with Him known as the Lord’s Supper. Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying “Take and eat, this is my body” (Matthew 26:26). Then He took the cup and offered it to them, saying “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:27).

Thought for today: Jesus asks us to join Him for life.

Thought for the future: there’s only one way to heaven, but that’s all we need. Where will you spend your eternity???
