God has given us many gifts, the gift of life, the gift of love, the gift of us being here alive on God’s earth. But many people still don’t realise that all these gifts come from God. And many don’t recognise that the greatest gift God has given us is Jesus Christ, His one and only Son. It is only through Jesus that we can share eternal life with God, after we leave this fallen world. Temptation doesn’t come to us because we are evil, but because we are human, and as such, sinners. But Jesus knows us all by name, and He longs for us to come to know and trust in Him. For when we are near to God, we are on His righteous side, and have the hope of eternal life. For all the material things we have in this world, none of them can give us eternal life. Only Jesus can give us eternal life, and He said we should love one another, for love comes from God. Ask God to open your eyes to the people around you, so you can show all those in doubt, His faithfulness, love, grace and mercy.
Thought for today: our living God can take the fear out of living.
Thought for the future: our Lord Jesus can take the fear out of dying. Where will you spend your eternity?
