A prayer of thanksgiving to our mighty God, for help when we know someone is hurting. Help us to know what to say, and what to do, and to be able to do it with loving compassion. Lord, let your love flow through us so that others will see it too. For you are our one and only God, so perfect in every way, and you made us in your image through your mighty wisdom, power and unfailing love. Let us show true compassion to those who are hurting so that we can help them heal. Lord, give us an open heart to show them your love is real. For work done in your name, gives witness to our deeds. Don’t let smaller things distract us from the work of God. Life may not be fair, but God is always faithful. And our love for God can be measured by our love for others. And though we may think our deed is small, let God produce the harvest from the seed we sow. And consider, when we help someone, we may be the answer to their prayer for help. Lord, let us work till our life’s end, and give us life till our work is done.

Thought for today: enjoy the abundance of God’s gifts, but never forget the giver. Thought for the future: patience is a virtue, understanding is knowledge, loving is godly. Where will you spend your eternity?
