From the Book of Ephesians we learn in chapter 2 that we are saved through the grace of God, and not by anything we have done, or can do. As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins (Ephesians 2:1), in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world, and those who are disobedient (Ephesians 2:2). We all lived this way one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts (Ephesians 2:3). But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions (Ephesians 2:5). For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8), not by works, so that no-one can boast (Ephesians 2:9). For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Thought for today: when you know the truth, then you will know what is false. Thought for the future: our hope of living for ‘ever’, is our ever living hope. Where will you spend your eternity?
