The Book of Revelation was written by John at a time when Christians were being persecuted because of their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. John’s main concern was to give his readers hope and encouragement, and to urge them to remain faithful. The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever (Revelation 11:15). And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshipped God (Revelation 11:16), saying “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign” (Revelation 11:17). “The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your Saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great - and for destroying those who destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18).
Thought for today: as the world becomes darker, the light of Jesus becomes brighter. Thought for the future: final justice is in the hands of a just God. Where will you spend your eternity?
