Sometimes you have to move backwards

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Quote from Tinybuddha.com: "Sometimes, you feel as though you are riding the bicycle backwards. You feel like you are backtracking and heading in the wrong direction, but really what’s happening is contraction and release. The universe is preparing you for something much greater and like a sling shot, it’s going to shoot you forward—you just have to move backwards for a little bit.” It is possible, of course! It’s the only way in some situations - you have to give up certain things (which are really painful to give up, because you can’t even imagine yourself without them), so you can see and observe yourself, your surroundings, people around you, the situation you’re in. It may be some perspective, or a human being, but it is obligatory for further progress to act this way.
I will start here with a very classic example: When Tiger Hunts for its prey, he reaches very slowly for his food and he doesn't attacks the Cow just like that. Moment before final assault, it takes a step back and then marches likes a bullet. But why the tiger takes a step back? It is because, he evaluates the situation, the surroundings. It gives him a bigger view of everything. It gives him an opportunity to analyze is best chances from a different view. Similarly, In Life, we keep moving forward. In everyday situations, we evaluate, take decisions and work on them.
But all that is completely in accordance with our conditioned beliefs, preconceived notions and habits learnt in the past. And we never try to look at anything different. We never explore the unexplored. But Over the period of time, Things change, people change. And our Old conditioned reactions are no more helpful in Present. Now, Here Stepping back Helps a lot. Any any Decision Making, No matter how big or small, if we do not just directly respond to external stimuli but Wait, and Analyze the complete Picture. and Evaluate our Options. This will be more helpful because now our response will be from our present learning. our Decision Making will not be affected by our Past subconscious Mental emotional patterns but by a Conscious Awareness. At any point of time, Conscious Awareness is very important.
If you feel that you’re stuck, you’ll have to make some serious research and sacrifices, If you’ll refuse to give up something (take a step back, so to speak), you’ll remain in a familiar situation, but there won’t be any step forward. Everything which is worth a thing, is located forward. There is no such thing as bright past, the only function of past is to remind you of certain experiences which worked out, or didn’t, and use this intel in your life. Take a step back, observe, see the light and move forward!

For sure it often is. You have to figure out what gets you closest to where you want to go. Often humility is needed to move forward past pride or other self-imposed blocks. You need to always count the total cost; get a look inside your own mind at the biggest possible picture you can, leave nothing out! It was a full moon night, around 1 am. Everybody was fast asleep, while I was awake, staring at the moon and enjoying the mild breeze. Suddenly I remembered something. On one such full moon night, a decade ago, I was staring at the moon, thinking about my future. What will happen after 10–15 years? I will earn, will be married, will I keep a moustache? Will I run a factory? Life will be easy or tough? Will my grandparents be still around? I hope so. It struck me that however my life changes, the moon will always remain the same.
And then I promised myself that after a decade, I will connect with the moon again, observe the changes in life and communicate with this young boy who would be hiding somewhere in memories then. Coming back to present. Looking at the same bright moon, remembering that moment was no less than a time travel for me. Though we never realise and observe how life is slowly changing every moment, but thinking from that young boy's perspective, I felt amazed that so much has changed in the past decade. I felt more or less satisfied thinking that I have been bestowed with so many experiences, lost somethings and gained somethings. The problems which were important and overwhelming back then don't exist today, while today has its own concerns. If I would have stayed stuck in life or compromised with my genuine dreams, I would have regretted in this precious nostalgic moment (and subconsciously throughout life).
And then suddenly I thought-What will happen one day when I will be gone? I would be long lost somewhere with no one to care. But the moon will still remain the same and enlighten the world with it's glorious light. This made me reach to a question-Am I really relevant to this earth? We humans have been bestowed with a very limited period of time on this earth, which we call life. Every second, something or other is changing in us and in the environment around us as well. Even if you lie down peacefully on your bed staring at the roof, still you are moving forward. Clock is ticking, and the end is nearing after each passing second. And then one day you simply won't exist. Nothing won't matter. Every thing which bother you the most today, and the people whom you love the most today. Then why do we give so much undue importance to the problems of today?
With a limited life, not moving forward is not possible for us humans, better to go on in life with strength, excitement and enlightenment. Just keep three things in life- Let go what is gone, keep it safe in memories. Don't keep craving about something you couldn't have, there is so much more to concentrate on. No achievement or failure is bigger than your life. If you are stuck in life today, think about this. Cheers!
