Sometimes You Gotta Dance!

This past week I have been overwhelmed. Listen, life gets hard sometimes, I get it. Sometimes it smacks you square in the jaw for a knock-out punch. Most times, if you sit back and breathe, the catastrophe dissipates. Other times, especially as women, we hold on to the angst and do not let it go as though it's no one else's worry. It has perplexed me through the years, as to why on this good green earth, women do that.

For me, I have been trying to grow my business for over eight months, with no real connection to the reputable community within my industry. Suddenly, and is by God himself, I am getting reviews, and engagements based on the networking activity I created this past year. Sometimes, I sit in awe, but mostly I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off and feathers on fire. I am one person and haven't made the kind of income that this business requires to hire an assistant. In conclusion I am more than overwhelmed. Happy, but running so fast sometimes I cannot think straight. The messages get jumbled in my brain, balls get dropped and sooner or later someone is disappointed with me. Argh! This adds to that all failing, "IMPOSTER SYNDROME." Yes, I said that loud because it's a lie. We're all capable, but at times we don't feel that way.

Here's my recommendation. Get organized. Pretty simple huh? As an ambivert, there are moments when the day is harder than others. I need to get out there and speak, but I have just been chewed out by one of my kids for having the audacity to draw boundaries, and I am a bit unnerved. Sometimes I feel shy. There are instances when I feel fully confident and cannot remember where I was. The one thing I do know is that if I sit down for a hour and organize my thoughts by writing them down on paper, I have a clear focus of what I need to do, how I need to do it, and by what timeline do I need to keep my authors happy.

People cannot see the fire through the trees. You have to get those big brown beasts out of your way so you can see the exit clearly. If you're having writer's block go live a little. If you're unsure about what to write about go watch a few people. You should get inspired quickly. Life calls for living it out loud. That means, close the PC, get on your dancing shoes, put on a little music and enjoy life a bit. Do what I did, go to a dance follies and take pictures with the bedazzled ladies. Whatever floats your boat, but for me, sometimes I just gotta dance.

Good luck to you. You can learn more about what I do at https://Easton-Books.com
