Sometimes What You Really Need is Hope
My seven-year-old grandson was over on the weekend.?? He likes dinosaurs and science.? We have very interesting conversations sometimes.
He came and sat beside me on the couch and said very seriously, “Do you know that the world is going to end?”?
I asked him why he thought that.? He told me that he saw it on tv and also heard people talking about it.?
I thought for a moment then I took his hand and said, “Come with me”.
We went to my office, and I showed him a book on the shelf.? ?We read the title together.
?“Not the End of the World” by Hanna Ritchie
I said, “I just started reading this book, but the person who wrote it seems pretty smart.? When I’m finished, we can talk about it some more and see what we can do to help make things better”.
He thought that was a good idea.?
