Sometimes people do complain that we are doing so much of effort but unable to lose or control weight.
Our body comprises many things and hormone balance is one of them which are related to weight gain or weight loss.
We have many hormones but four are main about whom I m gonna talk to start off, let’s take a closer look at the four chemicals that tell your body to store or burn fat.
First is Insulin:
Since Glucose is a primary source of energy for the cells, when you eat foods that cause the blood glucose level to rise, the body releases insulin as it is the chemical that allows glucose to be released into the cell.
When there is dysfunction in releasing the proper amount of insulin. Weight gets affected.
Cortisol:
This is a stress hormone. It’s produced to prevent blood sugar levels from dropping below normal. This is why you crave sugary snacks when you are stressed out. Cortisol helps slow down the metabolism so you preserve more energy. If you have high cortisol levels, you will gain weight.
Leptin:
This is the satiety hormone and it’s secreted by fat cells. It signals the brain that you are full. It helps to tell the body when to store or lose weight. When levels are low you will be hungry and the body may store excess food as fat.
Thyroid Hormone T3 and T4 are produced by the thyroid glands. Their job is to prevent lipolysis and they help regulate the metabolic processes.
Other hormones responsible are Progesterone, estrogen, testosterone.

What Should You Do?
- It’s important to avoid a strict diet.
- The best plan for sustained weight loss is to eat small and frequent meals.
- 6 days a week workout can help to balance the hormones.
- Plenty of water.
- Avoid sugary beverages.
- Eat light and healthy.
- Don't run after junk and refined foods.
