Sometimes mistakes are good
I've now had 6 six months of formal photography training and shot thousands of pictures. Like all photographers, I'm always in pursuit of that perfect shot. The one so good it could win awards. A photo so sharp, so deeply colorful, so well composed that it stands apart, and above.
This is not one of those shots. In fact, this photo was a mistake. Macro photography is notoriously difficult because the depth of field is so razor thin. Obtaining a sharp focus across your subject can be virtually impossible. A lot of people turn to focus stacking to remedy that situation, which is fair enough.
In this photo, I attached a 10x magnifier, got a bit too close, and this shot fell just a bit out of focus. And yet, there is something about it that I love. The colors, the soft patterns, the slight blur.
BTW, this photo is 100% unedited. What you see is what I shot. Which is also nice. Enjoy. Or critique if you like.
