Miss EmpowHer: What does women's empowerment mean to you? Why is it important?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Women empowerment is sharing kindness, good intentions and mentorship to others. I think that empowering other women to succeed is the only way because environments that seek to break us down, showcase we don’t belong and question our capabilities are not conducive for growth. We should all seek to support each other, to avoid being the catalyst for disempowerment.

“Women empowerment is sharing kindness, good intentions and mentorship to others”.

Miss EmpowHer: What advice would you give to other women looking to succeed in your industry? What qualities are the most important and what skills should they focus on developing?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: To succeed in any industry you must be aware of your environment. Be mindful of people who can find joy in bringing others down or who endlessly gossip negatively about others. The most important qualities to possess are integrity, curiosity, perseverance and reflection. Developing a network of diverse connections across backgrounds, cultures and industries and maintaining contact has allowed me to grow my knowledge in areas outside of my immediate interests and ideas.?

Miss EmpowHer: Tell us about a woman who has influenced your career and how their guidance has impacted your professional growth.

Gabriela Atsepoyi: I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by women who inspire, mentor, love and support me. They hold me accountable by highlighting my strengths and allowing me to reflect on my weaknesses. Without them I’d be at the mercy of people who don’t realize my full value.?

Miss EmpowHer: How do you handle work-related stress and pressure, and what techniques or practices do you use to maintain your well-being while pursuing a successful career?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Movement is the cure. I’m a Yoga teacher — though I haven’t taught a class in years. I do value the ability to take deep and intentional breaths. I am also very into reformer Pilates. It’s the perfect balance of mindful movement and difficulty.?

“Value the ability to take deep and intentional breaths”.

Miss EmpowHer: Can you share any lessons or insights you have gained from failures or setbacks in your career, and how you have turned them into opportunities for growth and learning?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: I’ve learned that sometimes it’s not the wrong message, just the wrong audience.?

Miss EmpowHer: Can you share any strategies or tips for building a successful network and fostering meaningful professional relationships that have helped you in your career?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Go to conferences to learn, network and connect. If attending isn’t financially feasible then try to volunteer. It’s important to meet people in real life.?

Miss EmpowHer: What strategies or tactics do you use for setting and achieving your career goals, and how do you stay motivated and focused on your objectives?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: I have clear values and learning objectives for myself. I’m driven by accomplishing those.?

Miss EmpowHer: What motivated you to choose your current career field, and what do you find most fulfilling about your work?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: I’m a consumer too and I value good ads. In my work I’m motivated by the opportunity to create impactful ads that are relevant to the viewer.?

Miss EmpowHer: Can you discuss any specific trends or changes in your industry that you see impacting careers, and how you are preparing to adapt to these changes?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Climate change. It’s hard to join a call without power or internet.

Miss EmpowHer: What advice do you have for individuals who are starting their careers or looking to make a career change, based on your own experiences and lessons learned?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Read books on goal setting then start making SMART goals while affirming a commitment to succeeding.?

“Start making SMART goals while affirming a commitment to succeeding”.

Miss EmpowHer: How do you approach professional development and continuous learning to enhance your skills and stay relevant in your industry??

Gabriela Atsepoyi: I value good feedback and I’m committed to always learning.

“I’m committed to always learning”.

Miss EmpowHer: Can you discuss any significant achievements or accomplishments in your career that you are particularly proud of and what you learned from those experiences?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: Leading App Re-engagement as a test program that is said to have the potential to drive impact to key metrics.? I love working on App RE because there are many key collaborators— and it’s cool because it started with a test. At LinkedIn , I am lucky to lead the App Test program which intersects my research and paid media background.?

Miss EmpowHer: How do you balance your career ambitions with other aspects of your life, such as family, hobbies, and personal well-being?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: It all feels like a long math problem and aspects either add, subtract, divide or multiply.

Miss EmpowHer: Are there any specific books, podcasts, email newsletters, thought leaders/influencers, or training courses/programs that you would recommend for personal or professional growth?

Gabriela Atsepoyi: “The 12 Week Year ” by authors Brian Moran and Michael Lennington
