Sometimes, the government needs to stay out of the way.
People just want to earn a decent living and spend time with friends and family. That’s true whether you work in this province’s resource sector, at the Evraz steel plant north of Regina, or in any other line of work. Sometimes the government can play a helpful role, but often the best thing the government can do is to stay out of the way. The Liberal government’s recent actions are a prime example of how the government could do better by simply staying out of the way.
Last week the Liberals passed Bill C-48, an act which bans oil tankers from exporting oil from most of BC's coastline. Justin Trudeau’s ridiculous decision is yet another example of the Liberals' policy of keeping Saskatchewan oil in the ground. This move makes the Liberals' priorities clear: They care more about the views of environmental extremists in their own party than they do about the economic interests of Saskatchewan, not to mention the thousands of jobs that could have been created in northern BC.
For all of the details on the Liberals' oil tanker ban, check out this article: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-oil-tanker-ban-passes-commons-1.4655077Pipelines and natural resource development are essential to Saskatchewan's economic growth and to the well-being of our people. In this province, we have trillions of dollars of oil beneath our feet just waiting to be extracted at shipped to global markets. The pipelines that move all this oil are made at the Evraz steel plant just north of Regina. We need a federal government that will stand up for Saskatchewan’s interests.
I am here to stand up for the economic development of this province. I am asking for your support in becoming your Conservative Party candidate for Regina-Wascana in the next federal election and consequently, your next Member of Parliament. The nomination vote will be later this year, although the exact date has not yet been determined so stay connected for details.
