Sometimes, a good workout is all the therapy you need

Being fit is important to me, and hence my fitness routine. I was always working out and keeping myself fit, but, I had made this a priority during the covid time.

I have realised that when I work out, I experience a sense of satisfaction, feel like I have accomplished something and definitely feel positive at the end of it.

Here’s what I experience during my workout:

1.     Positive selftalk: I become my own coach and give myself a pep-talk. Even coaches need pep talks on a daily basis. I encourage myself to do better and try newer options.

2.     Visualise: I think about what I would be doing 5 years down the line, and visualize my future. It motives me to do better and have clarity on what I am really going after, why and how.

3.     Plan: When I am aware of what I want to do, the next thing is to plan mentally on how I am going to go about it. I think about the various moving parts.

4.     Prepare and rehearse: I tend to think about the content that I need to include in the next upcoming webinar or workshop. I think of the flow of content. Many times I find myself rehearsing my speaker notes for the next webinar.

5.     Introspection and self-awareness: I use the time to introspect and gain awareness on various emotions that I experience. Once you are aware, the problem is half solved.

6.     Solve problems: Yes…I think of the problems and challenges that I am facing in personal and professional life and find solutions.

When I work out, its always a good day.

I have been doing most of my strategic thinking while I am working out, while listening to my favorite music. Plus, I am positive, more energetic, motivated and fit.

Sometimes, a workout is all the therapy I need.

Once I am off the stationery cycle or the rowing machine, it’s crunch time.

Please feel free to share about what you experience while you work out? What’s going on in your mind?
