Sometimes.

Sometimes.

Sometimes you can be enough for others.

..other times you can't.

Sometimes you can make all the right moves and all the right choices.

..other times you can't.

Sometimes you will meet the expectations of others.

..other times you won't.

Sometimes you can get it all done and keep those plates spinning.

...and sometimes you just can't.

Knowing how to navigate that fine line of when to push harder or rather when to rest can be tricky. As with everything in life, it can be a balancing act, and sometimes that comes with a learning curve.

Understanding your bandwidth is an art in my opinion. We talk often in the EWN office about Clifton StrengthsFinder and what our strengths can look like when we are operating at our best versus when we aren't. I have "Responsibilty" in my top 5 strengths. I find that I have a hard time saying "no" to things. You can count on me to be accountable and committed, but I also have been guilty of taking on too much.

We must be self-aware enough to know we won't always get it right. You will likely grow more through the mistakes made than you would the times you get it right. Pray for wisdom when the feelings of being overwhelmed seep in. Above all, give yourself grace. The more we realize perfection is an extremely high standard to expect from ourselves and others, the more understanding will become second nature.

When you look around with a spirit of understanding, you will notice that people are simply doing the best they can. Sometimes, they get it right for you.

...and sometimes they just don't.

The FIRST thing I do with most of my 1:1 clients is assess them with the Clifton Strengths Finder. It's SO important to play to your strengths, and give yourself grace and/or delegate/team on the things that aren't!
