Something very fishy going on....can you help?
Before I am forced to change my phone number for the 1st time in over 15 years, let me set the scene...
Early in August I received a text message from those good people famous for music venues O2 stating "Just to let you know that your number's going to migrate out today. Once complete, this SIM card will be inactive". Odd I thought given I hadn't requested anything. Immediately investigating, apparently I had requested a PAK code. Once making it clear to the gentleman at the other end that I had not, his further investigation identified that it looked like someone at O2 had made an error and that my phone wouldn't be switching off at all, not to worry (and clearly not the case either......)
Needless to say my suspicions we raised a few weeks later when I went overseas on holiday only for my phone to not work for calls and texts. On returning home I then realised I hadn't received a bill... the plot thickening all the time.
So today, on O2 employee number 8 after 2 weeks of desperately seeking clarity (and being put on hold to some very loud Arctic Monkees) before more overseas trips and a requirement to have a mobile phone that is....well...mobile, I have found that I am indeed no longer registered at O2 (although the phone thinks it is), have not had a bill for 2 months and that 'Intellicoms3' now own the number.
Anyone heard of Intellicoms3? they don't appear to exist! Intellicoms is an Irish telecommunications company that don't pick up their phones; S3 Intellicoms are based in Bangalore and don't have a phone number; Intellicoms2 have a number that if you call gets routed to the AA's marketing team.
I am heading to a number change.....but am interested to know if any of you have experience of this type of challenge or can shed any light on the matter for me!
Career Guru..........we all have to be great at something?
8 年James what an excellent way to rid yourself of all those recruiters who keep calling you about the best job in the world with a view of the pacific ocean and everything else to boot..... ! Intellicoms sound similar to a group of invaders from a series of Dr Who in the 1980's, but in all seriousness, hope it gets sorted and at least you now have a reason not to tell your wife the time you will be home for tea when you are at the Gym. All the best
The plot thickens folks! But we have a cause and affect. Simply, when moving your number from one phone/provider to another, make sure they migrate the sim AND port the number. If they don't port the number, the original provider continues to bill your old employer.... Disappointing 12+ phone calls to O2 who couldn't find this out and a massive shout out to "Saf" in the O2 store in Bath who identified the problem in 5 minutes. O2 are now dealing with a breach of confidentiality as well as potential fraud for billing 2 people for 8 months... Not changing my number now, but am changing provider.

8 年Wow, and I thought Vodafone were crap. This is really depressing: I am with Sky, not because Sky are good, because they are not, but because BT is so,so bad. I have heard EE is shockingly poor, and my experience of Vodafone is one of dropped calls, everywhere, all the time, for as long as I can remember. So I was thinking O2...James, my bubble has been burst!
