Something To Think About On This Election Day

Something To Think About On This Election Day

So today is election day, and I am proud to say that my wife and I voted first thing this morning. Election day, to me, is both fantastic and scary at the same time. It’s amazing because if you look back on history, voting was only eligible for a select few. The evolution of our country allows voting rights to all over the age of 18. And it wasn’t that long ago. Yikes! It makes me happy to see so much progress in that area.

It scares me how so many people cannot accept others' decisions on who they voted for. And how confrontational so many people get with each other. Unfortunately I've seen (I think we’ve all seen) friendships broken because of their political beliefs. That to me, is extremely scary. What happened to acceptance?

I hope more people could acknowledge the concept of “agree to disagree” and leave it at that. More importantly, not base an individual’s character, whether good or bad, right or wrong, on their political affiliation but who they are as a person. I know both wonderful Democrats and Republicans who I love dearly. They are great people with different views. It's all good!

Please be above it all and allow the space for people to execute their right to vote as they please without any ill feeling. Don't be one of those people...and you know what kind I'm talking about.?

Happy voting and I hope your candidate wins, no matter who they are.?

With respect
