Something old, something new!
“I think books are like people, in the sense that they’ll turn up in your life when you most need them.” – Emma Thompson
As rightly said by Emma Thompson regarding books, they have come back to me in my time of need.
In this isolation the best use that can be made of my time is by revisiting my reading list and reading actual tangible books!
When I was in primary school, we had a period set aside as Library. We had to read diligently during that half an hour as there were supposed to be spot quizzes on what we were reading. Not only that, every week we had to check out at least one book to read at home as part of Library homework! Guess I got addicted to reading from my school Library!
As I started working, I started hearing/reading audio/e-books since it was convenient while I was out and about.
Now I have time and books and what else does an addict need, huh?
I don't know about anybody else but the feel of a book in my hands and the smell of a book feels liberating.
So two things I am doing to my satisfaction currently:
1) Reading
2) Writing
This pandemic and having no job, seems like a blessing now. I would not have gotten to do the two things I have always loved to do !
Will keep you posted on my progress! Both with regards to the writing and reading
Part of my reading list!
Already read
Veronica decides to die
The Alchemist
Manual of the Warrior of Light
Eleven Minutes
By the River Prada I sat down & wept
Reading Now
Brida
P.S.: All the above books are by author Paulo Coelho. The only reason why I am reading his books right now is - I already had them! :) as my brother gifted me whole box set! AND, Of course he is my favorite author!
Would love to hear what is new in your life in this pandemic and what old, is now new. Please share your experiences. We need something positive to look towards. What say?
