Change is difficult.
It is messy.
It often has no real starting point and no way of knowing when or if it is over.
Recently I have been reflecting on the BIG changes that I have made in my life, in my career, and across my various business ventures.
In fact last month I updated my CV...something I hadn't done since 2014...the last time I seriously considered full-time employment.
When career teachers asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my cheeky response was always,
"I don't care, as long as I'm not poor"
I was only half joking.
I didn;t have a plan leaving school, only that I would follow my heart, go where my passions and interests went, and be willing to work hard.
Those prinicpes have served me well, and I have had a varied and exciting career so far.
There has always been a nagging feeling though that there had to be something more, that my BIGGEST and BESTEST (and yes thats a word) creation had not yet been born.
And I have a feeling this week, that it may well be well on it's way.

Life doesn't always work out how you expect it to, things end before you are ready for them to do, spanners do their job, and pandemics get in the way of your plans...our job is not to stop the changes coming thick and fast, but to learn to navigate them...to create a steady footing to ensure you don't fall over and not get back up.
I know this is all a bit cryptic...but trust me good things are coming.
I am just getting my ducks in a row before launching it fully.
What I do know, is that I have been initiating change for as long as I can remember. Find me a challenge and I'll try to solve it. Find me a group of people that think some thing is too difficult and I'll bring them with me on the journey towards making it easier.
That's just always been my way.
Who was it that said,
"We overestimate what can be done in a year, but underestimate what we can do in ten"
I reckon many of us just don't notice change enough while it's actually happening, we don't use metrics that matter, we miss the signs, and we spend too long questioning ourselves and looking for evidence of why things are not working...rather than trusting that we have most of what we need to move forward.
Anyways...that's it for now.
