Something has to change in an academia

In academia, I personally think we need to transform our teaching material every year. We cannot be having the same content for many donkey years and using the same style of teaching every year.

How about changing the entire module - I personally believe some of them are outdated or they need a serious revision.

Question is: Are we still getting the same students we were getting 5 - 10 years ago? Are we still communicating with the same language as these guys? WHat are we missing?

The way student sit in class have we questioned it? Communication platforms, what are we doing about it? Same lecturer that students complain about still comes back to that module and you expect students to do well? Students talk to each other and the upcoming ones will come with a negative mindset because they have heard how shitty a lecturer is...True story.

I think some people have been in the academia for a very long time and they cannot relate to what is happening on the ground and I think they are missing a lot...

Experience is good but if it doesn't come with humbleness and willing to learn and unlearn some of the things one has been doing over the years it's a problem...

One last thing: Departments' Admins they treat students very bad, I have personally experienced this and I hate it because most of them are people who once prayed for the position they are now occupying but they are treating students like dogs, moreover they treat their fellow colleagues like shit!!

Well you can say that this is my angry side but I am really not happy about many things that people and system do to the younger generation - I feel like we are neglecting something here... Oh and the long processes of adapting something new is so tiring because the academic X is still comfortable with doing things the way they have been doing it- oh God help me.

Indeed academia was designed for grown up people it was not designed for us young minds with crazy ideas... They will shut you down same time. You will be humbled.

Policies needs to be updated. Executive structures needs to be revisited. Decision-makers needs to be guided as well. Those people who leads with arrogance may the Heavenly Father touch their hearts - Leadership is a broad and complex concept and practice I shall talk about it one day like how Sir John Maxwell talks about it.
