When we try to accomplish something at work, we inevitably face failures that we must overcome if we want to succeed. Failures can depress us and reduce our will to work. If the failure is serious, it may be tough to get back up and try again.

Achievers are more valuable. It's their life. Each accomplishment boosts their professional value. Incredible achievers never give up and overcome failures to pursue their dreams. They're relentless and plan for victory. If you want to be a successful professional, you must have a plan for overcoming failures and discouragements.
Failure must first be recognized. Consider it transitory.
Failure is only final if you give up.
Hardships end. Failures are stepping stones to success, not tombstones. Attitude includes how you view failure.
(1) Assess failure
When you fail, fight anger, frustration, discouragement, or self-guilt. Feel bad emotions. Then, identify the lessons you've learnt through failure. This helps with failure. When you turn a failure into lessons, you may think of ways to improve instead of dwelling on the negative.
William Arthur Ward (1921–1994) wrote motivating proverbs. "Failure should be our educator, not our memorial service executive.... Delay, not defeat, is failure. It's a brief detour, not a dead-end. This allows you to take the second step in overcoming failure. Failure can be a learning opportunity.
Unsuccessful people try once, fail, and then give up. Successful professionals try once, fail, learn from it, and try again. They'll repeat the process to learn from their missteps. If you learn from your failures, you'll have more professional success. I did likewise when authoring this article. I'm going to check my original copy until I'm sure you get the message. This precaution will prevent my book's failure.
(2) Focus
Readjusting your efforts to succeed is another key to overcoming failure. Repeating faulty processes won't overcome failure. Some pros do that. They repeat mistakes yet expect different results.
(3) Acknowledge your shortcomings
The hardest part of learning from mistakes is recognizing your own flaws. When you discover a personal flaw, use self-control to fix it.
Various historical figures have done this. Horatio Nelson (1758–1805), a Royal Navy banner official, became one of England's most famous maritime saints. Technique and flight methods led to British maritime victories, especially in His leadership, technique, and flighty strategies led to multiple British naval triumphs, especially during the Napoleonic Wars. He's always had seasickness (ocean disorder). The man who sank Napoleon's navy kept working. He learned to live with and conquer his weakness.
We all become "seasick." Some have physical or psychological issues. Usually, defeating it is a quiet internal fight. It's not a medal-worthy accomplishment. When we triumph, nothing can diminish the satisfaction of knowing we persisted despite a setback.
(4) Learn from past mistakes
Every terrible event has benefits, even if they're hard to perceive now. Finding advantages in prior failures may help you appreciate them, making future failures easier.
Start by listing three lessons you learned from a former failure. If you missed a deadline, you may need to focus better, say "NO" to additional projects when overloaded, or tone down your perfectionism.
Have you considered ways to prevent future failures? If not, make some adjustments. Ask your friends how they've learned from failures. Seeing how others overcame failure might lower your concerns and help you see the benefits of your own.
(5) Failures as assessments
You may fail at any stage of a big project. How you handle pressure relies on you. If you view stress as a threat, as many of us do, your body will prepare for battle, making you feel like you're in a war zone.
If you consider this worry as a challenge, you'll think you can handle it. Your body becomes confident and reduces failure. Many professionals face comparable challenges. Dr. Myshkin Ingawale, an Indian researcher and inventor, tested 32 prototypes before finding a winner. He could have given up and portrayed himself as a failure after each detour, but he learned from them instead.
(6) Self-sympathize
There's never enough time to do everything well. You'll be rushed, make mistakes, or be disappointed. You must be kind to yourself in these moments to avoid guilt, shame, and humiliation.

Self-care helps you be compassionate towards yourself. By talking to a friend, you'll feel cared for.
(7) Failure's essence
Failure is as useful as success. Failure can help you understand what didn't work and avoid it in the future. You will still have obstacles, challenges, bottlenecks, and setbacks, but you will be better equipped to overcome them.
(8) Restart your efforts
That's the final step in overcoming failure. After analysis and adjustments, you must start over. You'll never succeed otherwise.

Good motivational book
It made me understand and realize more of the concepts of fears, failures, and discouragements as things that may seem negative at first, but thinking of them consciously will even lead us to a better version of ourselves. The motivational pieces of advice in this book are helpful for me as a student, and I am glad that I could visit my book review of this book in the future when I need something to lift me up.

"Seeds of Discouragement" is a clever term for causes of failure.
The book titled "The Successful Professional Endeavors to Work Around Obstacles" is a very well-read and practiced material not only for professionals but also for a large cross section of people, irrespective of their profession. The book deals with various ways of introspection culminating in conquering the cause, thus enjoying the success and long-lasting benefit. The author has used a small sentence/phrase, "Seeds of Discouragement," very well coined and aptly used to list out causes which are impediments to success.

2 年Interesting take on failures. Failure is a constructive feedback that tells you to try a different approach to accomplish what you want.
