Something Big Is Happening

I am really excited to announce that in just a few short weeks, the first Eric Speaks podcast will be ready to upload. Since I mostly stopped touring and event speaking when I moved from DC to Chicago in 2016, I have missed being on stage and connecting with people who want my help.

In the years since then, our inboxes at Cire Omni Solutions continued to receive questions and requests directed to me from people across the country, and I’ve tried to respond to as many as I could while working full time during the day and COS in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. The amount of time spent nestled on my sofa with my dog, television playing in the background as I typed response after response, was as therapeutic for me as it was (hopefully) helpful to the individuals who reached out for advice on HR/people, career, and life.

After two years of the occasional Twitter Q&A session and my team prodding me to do a weekly podcast [I didn’t have room for the equipment in my Chicago apartment, I swear!] I have decided that the time is right to tap back into some of the things that give me energy: helping to shape people’s careers, give counsel on HR and people practices, and change lives. Back to my core mission, “I help people and companies get better.” [Albeit, we are starting with a monthly podcast. Weekly is...a lot.]

I cannot say it is going to be perfect right out of the gate. I should have listened to my team a few years ago when social distancing meant I could have on-site sound and tech support - but if any of you attended my live show in PA back in 2014 when I took the stage to the sounds of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” instead of Tina Turner’s “The Best,” it will hopefully not be as mortifying as that experience.

But I will say, if you hang in with me while I get my bearings, I am determined that we are all going to learn and grow and have a lot of fun together.

We will exchange stories. In my Eric Speaks way, I’ll share words of wisdom and advice…that may not be what you WANT to hear but will definitely be what you NEED to hear. I’ll answer questions, we’ll have some great guests from the world of business and coaching. I might even break it up now and then with some talk on cooking and baking. [Actually, I will definitely be doing that!] And trust me when I tell you, you’ll still get to laugh as I make a fool of myself now and again.

So to those who have been writing to me over the years, and to my incredible team who pushed me [sometimes obnoxiously...seriously, some of you are lucky I didn’t fire you a while ago] and reminded me that people and fixing problems [and sometimes fixing problem people] are things that bring me great joy, I say THANK YOU.

Folks, keep your questions coming. I love to hear from you. [And I need material for our first few podcasts...you know...until the team drives it into me which button what mixer slider integrates the phone line into the recording!]

I’m looking forward to getting this first show out to you and finally kicking off this long awaited journey together! Let’s have some fun and get better together!
