Emotional Recalibration To Therapeutically Empower You Through Life's Toughest Challenges
Here’s something I like to do most mornings, most evenings, and even sometimes during the middle of the day. I tend to do it in bed, because it’s the most comfortable place, however I’m quite happy to do it on the sofa. If I can’t find anywhere more private, I’ve been know to do it in the car.
The most memorable places I’ve done it is listening to the waves crash on the beach, in soft moss while resting on a boulder among tall trees in the woods, on a dramatic but exhilarating cliff edge (I kept my eyes open during that one) and naturally, I’ve done it many times on a plane. In truth, I don’t think I’ve recently traveled on a plane or a train without missing the opportunity of doing a nice long one.
If you’re out of practice, I suggest you get straight to it again, because the benefits are numerous and you will automatically feel an improvement, even after the first time. Give it a go, even if you’re feeling a bit rusty, and a bit awkward.
I’ve made a habit of it for many more years than I care to remember, so admittedly, I’m quite good at it. I know that people tell me, when life gets a bit hectic, they go through phases when they don’t do it so much, and then they don’t feel quite so connected or energised. The thing is; that’s when it’s most important to get going again.
Making this your daily practice will get help you to reach a much higher state of consciousness.
The benefits are numerous -
Ultimately it can be so wonderfully satisfying.
I’m so passionate about doing this, that I make it my priority, and that’s why I like teaching it so much. Once I’ve taught you how, I’m sure you will soon do it as often as me. Things just seem so much better once you’ve done it. Everything seems clearer and brighter.
If you get really good at it, you can actually reduce your cravings for sugar, carbs and alcohol... It can help you get a good night’s sleep. It can reboot intimacy with your partner, because you’re much more satisfied. It will actually improve all your relationships, because once you’re doing it often enough, it definitely helps to reduce irritability.
Some people like to concentrate on their breathing when they do this, others tend to float up and away. Some people find they like to feel every single sensation that goes through their body. Some people stick to the same technique to get them there, others like a different route each time to keep things interesting. Others, including me sometimes, enjoy getting some professional guidance.
Some people tend to breathe quite heavily while they do it, with some people even panting, to really flood the body with oxygen. Some people can get quite noisy, sighing, humming, even repetitively chanting. For others, it just puts them off, so you have to find the way that suits you best.
Ultimately if you incorporate this into your daily routine, you will find a much greater equanimity in your thinking; therefore all your relationships and everything you do will be improved.
