SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPENED DURING 15 MONTHS OF S.I.P.

I was scheduled to go live at 2:00 pm.
I fed my son his breakfast, did his morning grooming, and got him settled in his room.
I went into the bathroom to start putting on my makeup to get ready for my live broadcast when it happened…
My son had a seizure.
I, of course, stopped what I was doing, and helped him through the seizure, cleaned him up, and sat with him to comfort him.
My son is nonverbal, yet I am tuned in to him and can read him really well.
It was almost 2:00 pm and I could have easily justified not going live and sending out a post to say that it was postponed.
Instead, I turned on my camera (focused only on me…I am very protective of my son’s privacy) and went live with my makeup halfway on and shared what my life looked like caring for my nonverbal son with special needs.
My comments and DM was filled with warm wishes…AND…inquiries on how to work with me.
As is often the case, synchronicity happened and I “stumbled” on a framework that would ultimately change my life.
And this time…I was ready.

It seemed my prayers had finally been answered!
I had found a way to do what needed to be done to get clients while doing what I loved… helping people! Specifically, women who, like me, have experienced a major upheaval in their life…or are longing to make a significant change in their current situation.
I honestly and transparently shared what had happened in my life; the wins AND the losses.
No messaging all about selling at any cost with “FOMO”, “persuasion hacks”, “ninja tactics”, or “Vulcan mind-melding manipulation”...
Nope…Instead, it’s just like a personal 1-on-1 conversation…
With the intention to genuinely HELP the reader (or viewer) solve their burning problem.
It oozed personality (like me ??)
It entertained.
It told a true and vulnerable story (just like this one).
And it left my new followers feeling hungry for more!

It was essentially world-class 1-on-1 sales... but "multiplied".
I was “marketing” and building my brand by giving genuine value first...
...but WITHOUT sounding like an “As-Seen-On-TV” infomercial!
So…I put it to the test...
When I shared this with one of my clients at the time, she was skeptical.
"Roz, that's crazy,! How could it ever work?", she asked.
She was afraid that – by using stories, being vulnerable, and dialing down the sales-speak – we’d alienate people and leave lots of money on the table.
Thankfully…
I managed to convince her to give it a try for a major presentation…
…and see what would happen.
Fast-forward a day after she made our revised presentation, and she sent me a text with the following subject line:
So many offers and new opportunities…who knew...

5 个月The way I reacted seeing only 2 comments when this is EXACTLY what I’ve been thinking about and talking about for years. I knew I was stuck and most sales strategy never made sense to me because I never wanted to tap into people’s fear or pain for the wrong reasons. I always wanted to empower people, find the areas they felt stuck, and help them transmute it, carry it with them (“do it scared”), or find their truth, sometimes both. I always said vulnerability was a strength, so are transparency and authenticity. Anyway, I just wanted to say you are AMAZING and I’m so excited to learn more from you and about you!
I absolutely LOVE this share, and what I love MOST about it is that when you made the decision to turn on the camera and go live, you TRULY were BRINGING YOUR WHOLE SELF to work, and to your PROSPECTIVE clients. We often talk about bringing our “whole self” but we rarely mean a true “come as you are” self. I applaud you, your authenticity, and your willingness to be vulnerable AND strong. Brava.
