Someone finally made me change!
I hate being sold to. Mostly as people seem to think that forcing me to do something, not answering questions as they want to try and "close", or, as happened at Sigma, tapping me on the chest to enforce a point; is the way to spread our appendages and slide in for a nice deal.
The problem is that doesn't work. The amount of people who have actually got me to reply to an inbound email is 2. But the best one was recently. A lady called Julia Fognini from a company called zChocolat emailed me. I need to say this is not a paid advertisement, this is an actual level of feedback I would go to for something this damn good.
"At zChocolat, we make VIP players feel truly special with exceptional products that stand out and thrill - customized with Igaming Plateform’s logo and with a line of numbered chocolates, perfect for the gaming industry where fate and numbers are inescapably intertwined. We deliver worldwide with fast turn-around and work with any budgets and no minimums."
Now this is not the best typed email ever. We do not make plates. Though sometimes I wish we did, my job would be easier. However it shows it was hand written. It shows she had looked at our industry, our company, and what might be key points for us when we decide what we do. Also she emailed precisely 6 weeks before Christmas when this is something we are looking at. She included some images, a link to a brochure, and the best line ever....
"I would be honored to send you a complimentary customized box so that you can taste our chocolates with your team and appreciate our attention to details."
This image is rather appealing for iGaming companies. I mean it advertises Genting, which is a very large company in our sector, shows the clients they have without having to list them. The work is quality, the boxes mahogany, inscribed in metallic gold finish, personalised name plate.
Whats more, the box they sent was a 160 Euro demonstration box. I was expecting 4 chocolates in a packet. I am not going to lie, that is what I would be sending out!
We got the box, we loved the box, we ate the box, we loved eating the box, there was all around happiness. I'm moderately sure they spike the chocolate with cocaine or something, that would be a new sales trick. (probably)
I'm not writing this as I promised it to them. I'm writing it as they dealt so professionally, and so polite and courteous, that it felt like the right thing to do. We were not rushed when spending a week to work out who to send it to, I got one chasing message in two weeks, and even that was offering help.
We worked out our spend each year insane amounts on shipping gift baskets to our clients. For the price of that we can send this. If this was a cheesy post I would say "something that shows we care", but you know I am not about that, so its actually "something that benefits everyone". Its same price for us, and it shows client respect and customisation, but we also get free chocolates. Clients should love it, each one is emblazoned with their own logo and ours, in apparent harmony (We will see how long that lasts!)
So - I offered to help them as they helped us by saving us 4 weeks of buying bloody gift baskets and working out how DHL works if we ship to Israel, apparent land of secret Curacao gaming companies. So, if you want to send these to your clients, VIP customers, friends, Romans, countrymen, staff, or even send me one,
You can reach her at - [email protected] - Mention my name from this post and you will get up to 20% off depending on order size. And yes, if you are contemplating buying enough, you do get free stuff. Trust me its worth it.

5 年Did someone actually tap you on your chest while talking to you? Nice Shakespeare's quote btw.

5 年They are as nice in person as Phil found them over email.? I met them at ICE, they had a very small stand in the back corner of the land-based side of the show. So nice were the follow-up emails that I almost bought from here - even though I had no need for her services, and lamentably still don't. This was 4 years ago - that's a lot of ICE stands and parties for a company's stand to stay in the memory.? Now.. while Phil is a buying mood... where did I put my bridge sales plan...?
