Someone asked me how i was doing.
(To be clear, this is not about me... but it is about all of us!)
And yes this is career related. It is actually relevant in all aspects of our lives.
So, in case you were wondering -
I have lost count of the number of times that tears filled my eyes over the last few days... not because i am angry, not because i am sad and not because i am scared... i may be all of those things but it was mostly because i am optimistic and hopeful. Despite the painful reality of where we are today in 2020, i see an opportunity for change, an opportunity to have fruitful conversations and to follow up with meaningful action. I see the beauty of the human spirit and the character of the majority of the people of all backgrounds who simply want a better world and are willing to stand... or kneel side by side to make a statement. I see their fire, i feel their fire.
Fire can bring pain, death and destruction... it is also symbolic of passion, desire, rebirth, resurrection and purification. Even when it brings chaos, it can ignite a hopeful human spirit for new and for better... but without a doubt - fire warms and it illuminates. Our hearts and minds are on fire. I am optimistic and hopeful that it will not get extinguished!
