Somehow it worked for almost 250 years ...

Now, according to the Orange Jesus, you have to believe that presidents need protections that they never ever had before, even through wars, civil unrest, invasions, a succession, recessions, depressions, national disasters, riots, you name it ... Now, evidently the office of the president can't function without total immunity. Or, just maybe, there's a reason, like giving someone -- even a president -- the power to do literally anything, i.e., murder, assassinate, wholesale slaughter, enslave, deny human rights, expel, overthrow, rape, pillage, plunder, without consequence was not the intent of the founding fathers and not the intent of a free nation.
