SOME WEIRD THINGS ARE HAPPENING

SOME WEIRD THINGS ARE HAPPENING

Check this out...

Uber - The world's largest taxi company, owns no vehicles.

Facebook - The world's most popular media network, creates no content.

Alibaba - The world's most valuable retailer, has no inventory.

Airbnb - The world's largest accommodation provider, owns no real estate.

...and then you've got companies like Eat24 (doesn't make its own food), Angie's List (doesn't provide its own physical services), and iHeartRadio (doesn't make its own music).

What the heck is really going on?

1) Creating a MECHANISM that SEAMLESSLY CONNECTS VARIOUS PIECES OF THE BIGGER SYSTEM is the key (and potentially... insanely profitable too).

2) CONNECTION facilitates more PRODUCTION (without YOU being the PRODUCER).
[ Read those two points again. I'm serious. ]

In other words...

In a world where there are so many moving parts, people crave simplicity. They always have. It's just become more evident now. If you create the system that brings people and processes together so the end-user has a more convenient experience, you will serve them in a way they haven't been served before. And in most cases, the result of the value you create will be ultimately expressed in $$. And you can do all of this WITHOUT being the content producer or service provider -- just the connector.

So now, I want you to start thinking...

What industries are RIPE for platforms?

What's a "bigger system" that frustrates you or people around you? What's currently chaotic that you can bring ORDER to?

What can you come up with?

Even if you don't have immediate plans to execute, streeeetch your IDEA MUSCLE and see what you think up!

You may just be sitting on an idea for the next Facebook, Uber, Alibaba, or Airbnb.

I just came back from a convention of 20,000 entrepreneurs and this is exactly the points that were made. I'm so glad I have a business model in place that can run itself because of the systems in place. You know your stuff!!
