Some visuals that make you think

This is my interpretation of a medium article written by Mr. Harsh Darji - 10 powerful visuals that will make you think. Thanks to Shravan Tickoo for sharing this as part of the Art and Product Musings Community.

  1. Cure for overthinking is writing

  1. Writing has long been recognized as a tool for achieving clarity, a principle underscored by the endorsement of journaling as a therapeutic practice by numerous mental health professionals. Whether confronted with a pivotal decision or aiming to articulate a myriad of racing thoughts, the act of writing proves instrumental in organizing and structuring one's cognitive landscape. This process not only aids in decluttering the mind but also serves as a constructive means of navigating complex mental terrain.
  2. What will you choose

In the early stages of a career, professionals often exert themselves to make a lasting impression on their immediate superiors, establish a personal reputation, or meet unrealistic deadlines they committed to. However, this zealous approach can lead to burnout, stress, fatigue, and dissatisfaction. A remedy to this is to consider taking regular breaks to alleviate stress and maintain a healthy balance between professional and personal life.

3. Tomorrow will become a graveyard of ideas. So, don’t wait. The time will never be just right. Act now.

While a pile of well-crafted ideas holds potential, it can turn into a mere collection if not acted upon and executed efficiently and timely. Action is, if not more, equally crucial for an idea's success.

4. Distractions are the enemy of deep work. Are you protecting your attention?

Professionals often find themselves in numerous meetings throughout the day, many of which may require their presence only as spectators to stay informed. To safeguard concentration and focus time at work, it's essential to identify and politely decline such meetings. Furthermore, summaries of crucial meetings can be obtained from the minutes shared afterward.

5. Self-doubt will kill more dreams than failure ever will.

Self-rejection before attempting a new business idea, pursuing a dream role, or taking a common entrance test often stems from low self-confidence, past failures, or external opinions. In such situations, focusing on the journey rather than fixating on the outcome can help avoid unwarranted self-rejection.

6. The person you marry is the most important financial decision you’ll ever make.

When evaluating compatibility with a life partner, considerations typically include career goals, dreams, attitudes towards failures, financial goals, and social and political opinions. Shared financial aspirations can be particularly beneficial, facilitating easier financial planning and goal alignment.

7. You’re not running out of time; you’re full of infinite possibilities.

An exemplary illustration of life's unpredictability is Falguni Nayar, founder and CEO of Nykaa, who took a leap of faith at the age of 50 to start her own company. Nykaa has since become one of the few profitable unicorns, emphasizing the idea that life's trajectories can take myriad paths if approached with flexibility.

8. Knowledge + Action = Wisdom

With each medical procedure or surgery performed, a doctor enhances their understanding of the criticalities and nuances of the human body. This serves as a compelling example of how the iterative application of knowledge creates an abundance of wisdom, compelling individuals to continue learning and developing.

9. Building in public will unlock great opportunities.

Numerous graphic designers, web developers, product designers, and UI-UX professionals curate portfolios showcasing their designs. These portfolios serve as tangible demonstrations of their skills, acting as powerful indicators of their expertise. By having a public portfolio, individuals in these creative fields gain a distinct advantage. The portfolio itself becomes a persuasive tool, eliminating the need for extra efforts to convince recruiters, clients, and other stakeholders of their capabilities. In essence, the portfolio serves as a self-contained showcase, efficiently communicating the individual's talents and opening up a multitude of opportunities without the need for extensive persuasion.

10. Communication 101 — Clear > Clever

A good communicator is one who has good command on the language and the topic of discussion. However a great communicator is the one who is able to effectively modulate his/ her speech as per the audience to ensure everyone in the room is able to consume what is being discussed. Essentially it is important to ensure there is cohesion between your mind and your tongue which would ensure you speak to the point and convey what you believe in.

Once again thanks to Shravan Tickoo , for serving us with such enriching contemplation and deconstruction exercises on a daily basis.
