Some Things I Learned About Myself During the Pandemic While Sitting By the Fire
· Most of my life I have prioritized hard work over smart work
· Hard work blunts my creativity
· Down time, long walks and asking great questions enhances my creativity
· I learned from growing up in a blue-collar family to prioritize grit over intellect and insight
· I am smarter than I thought I was
· I am more patient than I thought I could be
· I have more than I will ever need
· I am enough
· I am happy
· I am loved
· What has happened in the past does not dictate what will happen in the future
· A powerful sense of feeling right usually means I am going down the wrong path if I want to solve a problem or mend a relationship
· I get what I think and talk about the most
· I can decide what I want to think about and let things I do not want to think about pass by
· It takes as much courage to charge $100 as it does to charge $10,000 for my coaching services
· My services are priceless when provided to the right client at the right time
· It is better to not try to coach people who are not ready and wanting to be coached because I will have time to help the people who want my help
· I do not have to market my services in all the fancy and funky ways pitched to me on social media. All I need to do is to be of service in the best way I can, every day
· It feels good to be of service to people whether I am paid for it or not
· Chronic disease is less about information on diet and exercise and more about beliefs and habits formed in the past and practiced for decades
· I am my number one client
· There was a day I was ready to give up. I failed and failed and failed to eke out a living and felt terribly frustrated. I decided to wait just one more day before quitting. Then, without even trying, I succeeded. I think this happened because I let go of some old ideas and made room to think differently about my life.
· I ask great questions that mess with people’s thinking, in a good way.
- I cannot get days back.
