Some Strikingly True Colors
These hot and humid days have been more than trying, but from what I gathered today, the overnight temps are supposed to start dropping, so at least we can get a little reprieve from the heat during our night time hours.
Most of my morning was taken up with getting my recent sale file going, along with delivering the appropriate information to an attorney and title company. I did get side-tracked a little with the arrival of CenturyLink's repairman, and wouldn't you know, the trouble was being caused by a broken heavy plastic cover which was two doors down. Of course I couldn't help telling him there seems to be a great desire with those 'people of the night', to do something in our downtown which will affect those of us who're working in those buildings during the day.
While driving past that new apartment building at the corner of N. Federal and 2nd St. NE, I shook my head when thinking those main floor tenants facing those streets, will likely never have their blinds or curtains open while living there, because you can clearly see nearly everything in those units. Of course I had a wicked thought about some exhibitionist evocatively dressed and standing in front of those street-side windows encouraging a crowd to form. I have to keep reminding myself, we do live in a 'look at me' world.
I spent about an hour in a home today with a long-time client who's seriously thinking about purchasing it. Being one who relays everything he sees, I made sure he and his partner were fully aware of the the amount of work, time and expense it would take to get it up to 2024 standards, which they needed to hear because I would never want someone to get in over their heads financially. I'm pretty confident they won't, and only because I've worked numerous times with them in the past and thus far it's always been a win/win endeavor.
We just today received a price reduction on 328 S. Pennsylvania Ave's listing, so it's now listed at $176,500, which as far as I'm concerned, it one heck of a house for the money, and keep in mind, that rock-solid home was the original residence which was custom built for Dr. Harrer who was a prominent Mason City doctor at the time. The front hallway and arched doorways with pocket doors, is a sight to behold. Please put the word out to all your friends and relatives.

I'm gonna have a busy end of the week, and only because I have continuing education to get thru, a funeral to attend, and two showings and a closing already set up for the end of this work week. I'm truly hoping it won't be hot and humid on Friday, because I'll be outdoors a great deal of the time.
When reading the news today, I happened upon an article talking about all these prominent Republicans who've started a 'Republicans for Harris' campaign, and two of them will certainly be recognized by many, and they just happen to be Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, along with many others, so hopefully if Harris' momentum continues, D.T. won't be getting elected. As I've told a number of people, “When I have a really bad 'feeling' about someone or something, I'm almost always right.”, which is why we must work at dodging another four years with D.T. There's no question there are many of his followers who've been brainwashed to the point where they're basically part of a political cult.
Speaking of a recent 'bad feeling' I had about someone for a number of years, but could never put my finger on why. Well, over two years ago that person showed some strikingly true colors, but for whatever reason, I was more and more having this 'feeing' that I needed to insulate myself against that Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, which I managed to do before all 'yell' broke out. To this day, I have no clue as to why I went on the defense, but ever-glad I did because the pain caused by that evil one wasn't nearly as great. The reason I speak of that happening, is a simply an encouragement for everyone to slow down and allow whatever good advice the universe is trying to relay each of us. There's no question we have far too many people who refuse to slow themselves down, just so they'd have the time to turn inward and start reflecting on their troublesome issues.
Tonight's One-liner is: The story of the human race, is the story of men and women selling themselves short.
