Some Say Baseball is .........

Quick thought about baseball.

Some say travel ball has destroyed the game. Some say it is not the game anymore for the youth of today. Videos, soccer, laziness, bad parenting, etc.............

Let me share this.........It is not any of these things for the game has come and gone for hundreds of years. They played in Europe back in the 900s, it came to the Americans in the 1000s, it was played in England as rounders, Jamestown by the Polish Glassblowers, brothers in prison camps during the American Civil War, children with American Soldiers in war torn Germany and Japan, during the 60's when it was not cool, in the 70's when it was not hip, in the 80s when it was not high enough, the 90's, the 2000s, the 2020s........the game goes on and on because as long as a kid wants to play catch with his mom or dad, somebody is going to respond and keep that positive activity alive.

It will change, it will be a pain, it will be a joy, it will be played by the rich, the poor, the colored and the pale, the healthy and the sick.....the game will be a part of the world activity. Money and frills has taken its toll, misled many, destroyed integrity, disillusioned generations, HOWEVER..... there is nothing like smelling the grass, hitting the spinning ball, catching and throwing out a runner, or getting the last out from the pitching mound of life.

Therefore, every time, a person wants to argue a point with malice, provide criticism in every breath, compare and contrast like a clerical bean-keeper, attack a smile with elitism, and declare one level better than another as if anyone gives a gosh darn, remember, the only constant in baseball is change, the only expert is the one who plays, the only champion is the one that keeps the spirit of the game rocking onward.
