Some Practical Mathematics in Coating/Painting Industry

Hi Everyone..

If you are working in a Coating/Painting field, here there are some simple mathematical formulas which may be useful.

To find Wet Film Thickness, if you know Dry Film Thickness and Volume of Solids:

WFT = (DFT ÷ VS) X 100

To find Dry Film Thickness, the above formula is modified as:

DFT = (WFT X VS) ÷ 100

To find how many Volume of paint required to cover an area:

Volume = (Area x WFT) ÷ 1,000

These are some basic formulas which you can keep in mind. Hope this might have helped you.
