Some Personal News

The startup I co-founded during business school, GovPredict, was acquired by Phone2Action. As DealBook noted in its coverage, digital advocacy is booming, so I’m excited about the future of the industry and all that lies ahead.

Conceived on Capitol Hill, founded in Philadelphia, and seeded in Silicon Valley, GovPredict was once just an idea. I could not have imagined the journey or learning that would follow, and I am grateful for what the past decade has taught me.

I'm particularly grateful for the family members, friends, colleagues, classmates, and generous innovators who provided feedback, advice, encouragement, and support. I am humbled by your gifts, and I remain indebted to you for your kindness.

I'm especially grateful to Wharton's MBA program for providing the resources that helped me go from thinking about entrepreneurship to being an entrepreneur and to Y Combinator for being the first money to back us...and smart money, at that.

If you're a founder and are even just thinking about applying to YC, I wholeheartedly recommend YC and would do it again. The founders and partners I met through YC are among the most creative, generous people I know.

Congratulations to the entire GovPredict team on this outcome, and thanks to all who believed in us, because no one succeeds alone. As this chapter comes to a close, I cannot help but be reminded of the wisdom of Conan O'Brien:

"If you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

On To The Next One!
