Some nuggets as you reflect on 2015….
With end of 2015 nigh, no doubt many are reflecting on the year just about to go by. Here are a couple of thoughts as you close out 2015 and prepare for 2016.
The focus
- Focus on the wins, the things you did right and celebrate them
- Leave regrets behind, replace them with new goals
- Identify habits you developed that served you well
- Figure out the key lessons you learnt that will save you missteps ahead
- Thank personally all those who made the most impact on your life
- Identify which good choices you made that you are really proud of
- Celebrate any big decisions you made that turned out well
- Acknowledge goals and priorities you successfully implemented
- Be honest about challenges you faced, particularly those you overcame
The questions
- What are you grateful for in 2015?
- How are you better now than you were12 months ago?
- In what ways did you intentionally go out of your comfort zone?
- What did you enjoy most in your professional life?
- How many books did you read?
- Who benefited from your generosity?
- What did you find most challenging?
- What could you have done more of?
- What were the best pieces of advice you got and used?
Some principles going into 2016
- Look for insight always, not simply knowledge
- Don’t allow yourself to be reduced by challenging times.
- Always start with the ideal outcome and make adjustments along the way
- Whatever you want to do, ask ‘’what are the constraints?’’ last, not first
- Aim high, eliminate the non-essentials and lead yourself well,
- Stick with people who will stir up your aspirations
- Be clear on your values and don’t compromise on them
Wishing you fulfilling reflections!
