In most organisations, leaders are the biggest hazard.?
Particularly when working in an organisation where most people are working in an office. Where we’re not doing manual handling tasks or using heavy machinery issues or hazards.?
In these instances, the reality is that the leaders in the organisation will have more of an impact on their people's health than their doctor.
Because in real terms, they control the flow of work. They have a direct impact and control over creating psychological safety for their workers, Because fundamentally, they hold the balance of power.And in the employee employer relationship, even if you're in the government sector or private sector, it's the leader who has the control or that balance of power over the employee or worker. So in an employee employer relationship, they're the ones with all of the power and control.?
And so when you think about it and you hear statistics about the fact that only 1/3 of people in the workplace are engaged and that 2/3 of people this engaged or at least 70% in general, the statistics show that people are disengaged in their work. Given we spend a third of our life at work, that’s a lot of time for us to be feeling unseen and undervalued, not heard.?
But there is a brighter side, (hooray) and the good news is that I'm here to tell you all of this is completely fixable. We can totally turn it around. We can help managers become better leaders. We all can become better leaders and improve at how we serve the people that work for with us and for us.?

And we can create great company cultures where people actually love their work. Where they look forward to coming to work. Where people feel seen and heard and valued.?
