Some jobs you just don't apply for

One of the first companies I invested in 20 years ago. My daughter was 3 years old. It made me some extra money and got me out mingling with friends and neighbors.
It came with an amazing book all about wine and the winemaking process. I learned how to pair wines with food.
Who what of thought that it would land me a job for fun! A year later I walked into a winery on Seneca Lake. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name, but we had to dress in Medieval times. Let me know if anyone can tell me the name.
So how did I get the job? I can tell you I didn’t fill out an application. I was in the area for the weekend and wanted a bottle of wine for dinner.
I walked in and the owner's office was on the second floor overlooking the station for the pourers. (The bar)
He heard my conversations with the pourers and how knowledgeable I was about the wines. Okay, so I tasted a few just a sip though. Enough to wet my whistle??
Okay, so I walked out with a case.??
No judging! I wasn’t sure when I would back. So as I was walking out of the winery to my car the owner comes running out after me. I wasn’t sure what he could want. He introduced himself to me. He proceeded to tell me that I knew more about wine than his employees. He told me he wanted to start working there. Did I ask ok when?
He told me to start tomorrow. I shook his hand and thought to myself now that’s the way to get a fun job!
I lasted a couple of months because the money I spent on a babysitter and driving round trip from Rochester to Geneva didn’t justify the pay. Although I did negotiate a case of wine ?? each time. I stockpiled for awhile. ??
