Some Guy Is Trying To Turn $100 Into $100,000 With ChatGPT

Remember group projects in high school?

If you were anything like me, you were doing all the work for three other people half the time.

How fun was that?

I’ve lived for 30 years on this planet and I’ve realized one crucial thing..

This world is overflowing with lazy people like this.

People who are literally always looking for the easy way out — the path of least resistance — to barely skate by in life.

In 2022 a brand new tool called “ChatGPT” was introduced to all the lazy people of this great planet.

Imagine if all you needed to do as a lazy person to get stuff done was click a button endlessly?

Despite this, there’s one person who’s trying to turn $100 into $100,000 with ChatGPT. And it’s actually…working?

How ChatGPT Helped Jackson Get 100,000 Followers On Twitter

I recently saw an experiment that’s going viral where a guy asks ChatGPT to, with a budget of $100, turn it into $100,000.

It’s hilarious watching it play out in real time.

This tweet got 20,000,000 views, 20,000 retweets, and garnered the guy 50,000 new followers overnight.

So far it seems things are going pretty well, actually..

Wow, Jackson’s made over $130 so far! This experiment is working, right?

Well, there’s one big asterisk we need to place on this experiment.

Jackson’s Twitter account garnered over 100,000 followers in a matter of days.

Why?

Because his original tweet about this experiment garnered him 20,000,000 views and went viral.?He was even interviewed by CNN at one point, which no doubt helped increase his momentum.

So, is it working? Is ChatGPT seriously acting as some incredible automated partner for this venture?

The answer is hell no.

What made him $130 so far?

Sponsored tweets.

Why can he make money through sponsored tweets?

Because he has 100,000 followers.

Why does he have 100,000 followers?

Because of a really good idea that Jackson — not ChatGPT — had.

Jackson had a brilliant idea to run an experiment and see if ChatGPT could build him a 6-figure business.?Let’s be clear:?ChatGPT did NOT come up with this idea.?The real genius here is that Jackson would do this in public in front of everybody. If he didn’t, then he’d have a grand total of $0 in revenue, 0 new followers, and 0 new Discord members. In fact, he’d probably be at a loss so far — but I wouldn’t be that tough on him seeing as we’re only a few days into this experiment.

But his implication that he’s grown by 100,000 followers because of ChatGPT is way disingenuous.

This is not the result of anything that ChatGPT has done. It’s the result of a really good idea that Jackson had. An idea he went viral for.

Now that he has 100,000 followers, there’s no doubt in my mind that he will eventually make 6-figures “doing what ChatGPT says,” and everybody will falsely point to ChatGPT as the reason this was possible.

That’s not true at all.

It’s funny watching ChatGPT give this guy the most basic instructions, too.

“Allocate budget to hire content creators for eco-friendly website.”

With a budget of $100 I wonder how many decent blog posts you’re going to get, bro.

“Explore dropshipping”

Okay but how exactly? What are we going to sell? How are we going to market ourselves? An AI isn’t going to be able to answer all these questions.

I’m really not that impressed by ChatGPT, honestly, but all the lazy people in the world are.

ChatGPT Isn’t Only For Lazy People

I want to say something here.

If you like ChatGPT, that’s cool. I get it. It’s not like their entire user base is lazy people.?Jackson is a perfect example of a really smart, hard-working guy who’s using this tool for his own gain.

But make no mistake that half the shit I see on Twitter about ChatGPT is written in such a way that the author’s laziness is on full display.

I still have significant doubts that anything valuable can be written by ChatGPT either.

Judging by what it’s telling Jackson to do, I think my doubts are justified.

I’m 100% with you on this Tom Kuegler ?? - we shouldn’t be asking what GPT is capable of.. all this Wuwu type stuff. The point is more about what people will be capable to do with GPT. For me is a massive brainstormer.

Tom Kuegler ?? I doubted ChatGPT at first as well. What changed my mind is the point of your articles. To truly succeed, ChatGPT needs smart humans to give it specific, detailed prompts. Now that is a side hustle ??

This is an enlightening point of view. I know there are those that see AI tools like ChatGPT as just a way to get rich quick. YouTube is littered with "make $1500 a day with ChatGPT - (person points with shock to the title)" thumbnails. I see them daily. But just like all technology, not everyone is using it in that way. There are those who are legitimately building, experimenting with, and testing AI tools to expand human capability in multiple areas. That's the side of AI that I've found my way into on Twitter, here on LinkedIn, and on the greater internet. It's still early with this tech, there's still a lot more to discover about how it will change aspects of our society, but the fact is it WILL change things. It already has in some ways. Those that take the time to truly understand what it can do will be in a better position to have control over it in their lives. Forget the headlines, influencer gurus, and guys pulling stunts that only work because they have prior influence. If you want to learn how this tech can fit in your life you have to try it yourself, that's the only way. If you're interested in doing that, send me a DM. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction or share what I'm doing with it.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's his idea that got him viral not ChatGPT. It's how he is smartly using ChatGPT's name to benefit.
