There are some good days out there...

? Football is a game filled with clichés, one-liners and creative encouragements, all meant to inspire the players lining up on either side of the ball. Get tough or quit son! Bust him in the mouth! That a boy! Dig in!…And a host of others. Anyone who has played a down of organized or playground football has heard these and many others time and time again. 

But you know one of the ones that have for some reason or another stuck with me over the course of my lifetime came during my 9th grade year. We were down but not by a lot and as our coach sent us out for the start of the 4th quarter he said, “Men…there are some plays out there; don’t leave ‘em on that field!”

That game came to my mind this weekend because so many of us have already begun setting our sights on 2017…when there are still plenty of days filled with blessings left to be had in 2016. It’s a great thing to look forward but don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Listen friend and hear me good…there are some days left in 2016…some good days; some really good days with blessings we cannot even begin to comprehend or imagine. 

Do yourself a favor…don’t leave ‘em out there on that field!
