SOME OF THE FACTS-regarding air quality
Reducing virus spread indoors
Some types of Air filtration machines have been examined in stringent tests and by respected scientists and labs. These tests have included real life situations and Covid-19 hospital wards. In one September 2021 test (by Cambridge University) the Air Filtration devices chosen proved effective at removing the virus from the air on an active Covid-19 ward. Quality standalone Air Filtration devices can be very effective at reducing the spread of viruses, with many other benefits to support human health. A paradigm shift is needed
An alarming number of buildings in the UK have woefully inadequate ventilation. This includes schools, universities, offices, hospitals, and many types of private business. To emphasize this challenge, in an article written in May 2021, Science Magazine wrote that ‘A paradigm shift is needed to combat indoor respiratory infection' They encourage a rapid growth in our understanding of the mechanisms behind respiratory infection transmission in order to protect against unnecessary suffering and economic losses
The challenge of dirty air
The World Health Organisation (WHO) refer to air pollution as being ‘one of the greatest environmental risk to health’. They go on to say that by reducing air pollution levels, countries can reduce the burden of disease from stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and both chronic and acute respiratory diseases, including asthma. Here in the UK, 27% of UK schools (8549) have air quality above the minimum safe level recommended by WHO. A good quality Air Filtration machine, using HEPA 13 or 14 grade filters, can remove 99.97% of particles from the air.
