Some Bridges Need Burning
We have all heard people advise to "not burn that bridge" and sometimes they are right. Many people however don't like to be realistic and honest about those bridges that DO need burned. Being politically correct for the sake of others' societal norms can sometimes do more damage than good. You can burn a bridge without causing a wildfire after the fact, that is the difference. The wildfire part signifying extra unnecessary drama.
Walk away from bad situations, burn the bridge, and let the light from the fire lead your way forward.
If you don't burn a bridge that needs to be burnt, you invite the same issues back into your life that you tried getting away from. You cannot go forward that way. In some cases the bridge might be burning from their end and if you keep walking back across it, you may find yourself in a real bad situation. Metaphors and all...you really should focus on bridges that move you forward as opposed to backwards.

6 年I couldn't agree more: "If you don't burn a bridge that needs to be burnt, you invite the same issues back into your life that you tried getting away from." Far too often we feel compelled to salvage something not worth salvaging for whatever reason. Better to learn from the past, move along, and embrace the future. I must admit, I have glanced at the "past" before only to realize that I made the right decision and have thrived as a result of that. Thanks for sharing.
