Some awesome community tools - Part 1

Some awesome community tools - Part 1

In preparation for a series of talks I'll be giving over the next couple of months, I've been researching some of my favourite community tools for Intune.

In no particular order, I'll be walking through:

  • WIMWitch - a tool dedicated to the creation of customised Windows Image files.
  • OSDCloud - a PowerShell based solution for building bare-metal devices from Azure Storage
  • PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit - fully customisable framework for deploying applications to devices

WIMWitch

WIMWitch was developed by Donna Ryan as a means to generate customised WIM files from an ISO. It's grown significantly, with new features and functionality being introduced since it's original form.

It's UI-driven, so incredibly easy to pick up and get started. Take a look at my video for a more in-depth overview.

OSDCloud

Based entirely on PowerShell, OSDCloud by David Segura is designed to allow IT Admins to build bare-metal devices directly from the cloud. In it's latest release, OSDCloud supports Windows 11 and Azure Storage.

Check out my video for an overview:

PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit

The PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit provides a set of functions to perform common application deployment tasks and to interact with the user during a deployment. It simplifies the complex scripting challenges of deploying applications in the enterprise, provides a consistent deployment experience and improves installation success rates.

Check out my video for an overview!

What's next?

In Part 2, I'll be diving deeper into each of these tools, uncovering hidden features, dad jokes, and more.
