Somaliland Coast Guard Brigadier General and Governor of Sahil Region Welcome Commander of the United States Forces in Africa (Africom) to Berbera

The US Commander of the Africa Commend (AFRICOM), General Stephen Townsend, accompanied by the US Ambassador, Larry André, visited Berbera International Airport, were welcomed by the Commander of the Somaliland Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Hussein Farah, Governor Ahmed Hashi of Sahil Region of Somaliland Government, Director of the Berbera Port Authority, Berbera Municipal Council and Head of Somaliland Airport Authority.

I believe this is the First time such high Level US General visit Somalia and Somaliland. The level of interaction between the Somaliland Senior Officials and the US Delegation is evident.

Somaliland veteran Advocate - Mr. Abdikarim Abdi Adan, commenting on the US General commend for Africa ,US Ambassador and their high level delegation Team visiting Somaliland stated - " I take this opportunity to publicly commend and congratulate, all those who made this visit a memorable, historical and demystify the unique home grown Somaliland democracy and rules of law as independent nation in Africa", it demonstrate the Africa we want and this presents the US Africa Commend with new strategies in dealing with Africa issues, not by the Gun or Force but free fair and election and respect for law and order with Good Governance as outlined by HE Musa Behi Abdi, President of the Republic of Somaliland, a remarkable of equal human beings.
