Solving the leadership mystery!

Solving the leadership mystery!

Trust is the centerpiece of an effective team. Trust, knowing other team members are as committed to their roles and responsibilities as they are, moves everyone in the organization forward at all times. If they don’t trust, they hold back, protect, and focus on self-preservation and individual success.

Trust is built through culture, communication, and education.

Most importantly, trust begins and ends with leadership

Effective leadership is not as much about what is said and done as it is about how others experience it. A leader can share a great message or vision, have fantastic communication skills, or even outwork everyone else. None of these make a difference, unless the team experiences authentic, trusted leadership – concern, commitment, connection, humility – in those behaviors.

Building a trusting, collaborative team, is leadership driven. Instead of focusing on all the activities and behaviors necessary to be the leader one desires to be, a leader needs to focus on understanding how their team defines leadership and what they seek to experience from them as their leader.

Listen carefully and respond accordingly. There is no mystery in their answers.
