Solving for engagement – metrics alone are not enough!

Solving for engagement – metrics alone are not enough!

Most interventions to improve engagement are driven by metrics - typically defining what engagement is, analysing organisational scores and identifying areas for improvement.?

We believe this is not enough, as the solution is not intellectual, nor transactional. To shift the dial, team leaders need to focus on genuine leadership actions that are practical and compassionate.?

Engagement is fundamentally an interpersonal phenomenon, it is visceral and dependent on relationships. This implies that leaders must alter their behaviour and prioritise relationship-building if they want to enhance engagement.?

But how should they behave, and where should they invest their efforts??

We have found that a simple evidence-based approach is effective in moving the dial, and advocate these four key behaviours that leaders can implement to enhance engagement:??

  1. Fostering?hope
  2. Demonstrating?compassion
  3. Providing?stability
  4. Building?trust

It sounds simple, right? Simple in concept perhaps, but nuanced and practical in application.?

We’d love to share this proven approach with you, because we know that when leaders live it, amazing team and organisational outcomes can be collectively achieved.
